Hi Jim,

The PDB38M is at version 1.00, so very old.

It takes a hex file and a symbol file, rather than an IEEE695 file like PD38 or PD30 or KD30.

So debugging is not as full featured.

IAR also has a front end to their C-SPY debugger that connects to the T-PAC, and then their debugger supports the UBROF 5 or 6 formats.

The hex/sym files are generated by a converter ubr2sym, that reads a ubrof5 format. I can generate the files OK, but there must be something bad in the sym file, as the debugger still wont show the source code file. I have an older project that does display source in the PDB38M debugger, but it was generated from an older version of the Icc740 IAR compiler, which I dont have.

So not sure what problem is with PDB38M reading the hex/sym files to display source.

John,

No, I dont have anything specifically for the T-PAC or PD38M. I personally havent worked with those here. Shouldnt these switches work with it? I dont know if we have one of these units here, but ll poke around and see if I can find one. And try it out.

This is really for PD38 and PC4701 emulator.

Not for PDB38M and the T-PAC mini-emulator.

Got anything specifically for the PDB38M debugger?

Murray,

Attached is the app note which describes what you wanted about IAR and 740 series devices. The source is at the end of the document. Let me know if you have any questions.
